Reflections – Geneviève says ‘Don’t Give Up’

“There will be mountains that I will have to climb
And there will be battles that I will have to fight
But victory or defeat, it’s up to me to decide
But how can I expect to win If I never try.I just can’t give up now
I’ve come too far from where I started from
Nobody told me the road would be easy
and I don’t believe he brought me this far to leave me
Now I say, if this song does not touch you in one way or the other, I wouldn’t know where to begin with you. My bff and I will sing this song- soulfully and most often than not, go through all the emotions imaginable. We can laugh or shed tears, and still have no need to say anything else to each other after it all. No questions of “so, what exactly just went on there?” We just KNOW!! I’ll try and find the right word for that place, it’s a comfortable, beautiful, cleansing place- just to be able to express yourself and not have to explain anything.
I took some time to reflect upon my life and realised I’m not half the person I envisioned to be at this stage in my life. I dreamt of places far away, of fast cars, of big wonderful and lavish weddings, our ridiculous mansions and the all so beautiful and dotting trendy kids. I shan’t go into detail of which of the above I have accomplished, let’s just say I’m on the lower end of the spectrum.
So what does one do when things are not going according to plan, according to the dream you had?? When everything seems to be going just in the opposite direction? My Bible tells me “All things work together for good, for those who love him” and a myriad more promises that I can site. (recommends The Secret-by Rhonda Byrne).  A more secular view to the predicament would be “things will get worse before they get better”. (also recommends The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho).  Seeing as though I have been through the worst already, it has to be upwards and forwards from now on right?  I can go through all the obvious adages “there is light at the end of the tunnel; for every cloud there’s a silver lining…..” and so on and so forth, but then again, you should know that already.
I found this in my reading plan somewhere, it makes for very interesting read
“If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.If we keep doing what we have done we will keep getting what we got.
Determine where you want to arrive, chart the course, and go there.

Change can happen.

Leaders create better tomorrows.

Today’s choices determine our future and our history”.

Banish the thought of ever giving up. Its never too late for anything. Get some qualifications, boost your confidence,  regroup and set your sights on the task ahead- do anything, whatever it takes to elevate you from that  place you seem to be stuck in. You will get there. Watch this space for some mega testimonies of things moving on up!!
