Editor’s Note: Grace In The Quiet Issue

This month’s issue is intentionally lighter …a pause, a breath, a moment to recentre. As we prepare for Chaud’s one-year anniversary edition in November, the team and I chose to step back and simply exhale. Life has been life-ing, as they say, and sometimes the most powerful thing we can do both personally and creatively, is to slow down, reflect, and find our rhythm again.

Our October issue is a quiet ode to resilience and grace. We’re embracing softness while still showing up, even in the “off season.” Guest contributor Rexie reminds us of the beauty of staying the course in Fall Forward: Staying On in the Off Season– an invitation to rest, reset, and still keep moving, however gently.

And because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are deeply honoured to share Mukuka’s heartfelt interview with Tendai in We Go Through It: Choosing Joy During Illness. It’s a raw, luminous conversation about womanhood, courage, and choosing joy, even when the body is at war with itself.

This issue is short, but it’s full of feeling. A reminder that even when we scale back, we can still hold space for beauty, truth, and community. Thank you for growing with us, for reading us, and for being part of this evolving story. The best is yet to come and next month, we celebrate you, our readers, and one incredible year of Chaud.

With warmth and gratitude,

Reenie
