Dear 2024,

What a year you have been for me as a mom, a wife, a business owner and career girl. A true season of growth, recognition, and resilience. It’s almost surreal how much we’ve achieved and how deeply this journey has impacted all of us.

From the exhilarating moment our restaurant received a Good Food Award, to expanding our service and covering more plates than ever before, every milestone has been a testament to our hard work and the trust of our community. Seeing our name in lights—on a billboard!—and being featured in the Evening Standard made us feel more seen and connected to this beautiful city that’s embraced us.

Personally, you challenged me in ways I hadn’t imagined. Starting a new, demanding job whilst managing Break The Fast London on weekends continuing our seven day working week brought its own set of trials(besides exhaustion!). There was the weight of mom guilt, feeling stretched thin and wondering if I was present enough. But amidst that, there were golden moments of clarity and joy. Watching our daughter confidently tell people about “our restaurant” filled my heart; she’s fully aware of our weekend grind and has embraced it in her own proud, beautiful way. She understands why we spend our weekends building our dreams and isn’t just accepting it but inspired by it. And what a year she’s had, stepping out of her shell and transforming into a fierce swimmer, giving her best in all that she does. Our son, too, has kept us on our toes every single day, going from strength to strength, full of energy and mischief.

You taught me the importance of being kinder to myself, of not just letting life happen to me but actively shaping it with intention. Setting boundaries and letting go of the things out of my control, making peace with that too. As a mom, business owner, and wife, it’s been a constant juggle, with barely a pause. Yes, it’s been hard—but also incredibly rewarding.

2025, we’re ready. We’ll continue this journey, reaping all that we sowed in 2024 and more. With gratitude for the lessons and memories, I can’t wait to see what’s next.
